Being promoted to the position of 'Grandparents'!

2011 - will be an AWESOME year for the Nelson/Lynn family. Our beautiful daughter and son-in-law are blessing us with our first grandchild - a boy. Christopher Aiden Lynn is due to arrive June 30 (the same date his Mama was due! How cool is that?)

Been a little busy this weekend!

...and suddenly it's over! Weddings are funny like that. You plan for months and months, then boom, you are done. A friend of ours got married, and I decorated/directed and had tons of fun. I love doing this, it's hard work, but a lot of fun! The end result is all worth it. (I didn't make the bouquet, but I did take the picture with my 'star filter'.

Out with the old...in with the new!

We moved in 3 years ago, with our beautiful 'Bisque' colored Maytag refrigerator. All the appliances in the kitchen were white. Ugh! Well, we started by replacing the shallow, stainless steel sink with a nice deep 'Bisque' colored sink and a sort of bronze colored faucet. Looks real nice! Then, the microwave went on the fritz, so what was I to do but to replace it with a nice 'Bisque' colored Maytag? But, why buy just a microwave when you can get rebates for getting a dishwasher too? Well, now there is a nice, and very quiet, 'Bisque' Maytag dishwasher purring away under next to my nice, deep 'Bisque' colored sink. Then, there we were, for several months suffering, having to look at that last eyesore of that wrong-colored white range amidst all the beautiful new 'Bisque' appliances. So, at last, with a stroke of a computer key, a lovely, new GE 'Bisque' colored gas range has replaced that poor, misplaced white range.
If you see no difference in these two pictures, please do not tell me, as I am lavishing in the fabulous enjoyment of having all matching 'Bisque' colored kitchen appliances! (They make the pickled oak cabinets almost bearable! Pickled Oak? What were they THINKING?)
Oh yeah...now THAT's what I'm talkin' about!

It's me again...

Koty aka Victoria's Dashing Dakota, the world's goofiest dog! Don't let the haircut fool you, he IS a Shih Tzu, he's just disguised as a short-haired something or other.
And then there is Taz, the Perfect Persian. Just look at that face! (...that IS her happy face!)
My sister the photobug...and they thought I was bad! Ha!

My azaleas are blooming!

Daylight savings time, and it's also that time of year. The very short time we get to enjoy the vibrant bursts of color brought on by various varieties of azalea bushes. It's really sad they they only last a couple of weeks, and that is provided we don't get a MONSOON sort of rainstorm that beats them too a pulp and knocks them to the ground. So far...so good!

Okay...some pictures worth waiting for!

Our church sponsors an Upward Basketball program. This was our first year, and it culminated in an awards service on Saturday night. The special guest speaker for the evening was none other than Tim Tebow, freshman quarterback for the Florida Gators. He hung around afterwards to sign jerseys, shoes, hats, balls, and even a cell phone! It was a great evening.

The coolest thing about Tim Tebow, is that he loves the Lord and loves sharing that He is the most important thing in his life, even more than winning a National Championship. What a great role model for our children! Serving the Lord is where it's at, and giving Him praise for what He does for us everyday. We had drawings for autographed Gator items!
Here's Desiree, Tori & Sarah with Tim Tebow.
Tori got him to autograph her boyfriends Gator hoodie! What do you want to bet he won't ever forget her!
After taking pics all night, it was MY turn! My uncle will LOVE this!
