Being promoted to the position of 'Grandparents'!

2011 - will be an AWESOME year for the Nelson/Lynn family. Our beautiful daughter and son-in-law are blessing us with our first grandchild - a boy. Christopher Aiden Lynn is due to arrive June 30 (the same date his Mama was due! How cool is that?)

My Personal DNA - Faithful Artist

All in all, pretty interesting. What do those of you who know me think of these results?

My personalDNA Report

You are an Artist
Your appreciation of beauty, ability to think abstractly, and innovativeness make you an ARTIST.
Never one to be tied to a particular way of doing things, you let your imagination guide you in discovering different possibilities.
You would rather seek out new experiences than stick to your everyday habits, taking in as much of the world as possible.
Your eye for beauty and your willingness to consider different perspectives make your creative efforts interesting—even though you may not realize this yourself.
You prefer to think about things before voicing your opinion, considering a wide, diverse range of options.
While there are forms and styles that you prefer, you tend to keep an open mind when it comes to your artistic preferences.
You are curious about things, interested in the "why" more than the “how.”
You have an active imagination that leads you express yourself in a distinct way.
You're not one to force your positions on a group, and you tend to be fair in evaluating different options.
You're not afraid to let your emotions guide you, and you're generally considerate of others' feelings as well.
You tend to do things on the spur of the moment, not sticking to a set schedule.

If you want to be different:
Be more open to risks in your creative efforts, and don't be quick to dismiss the praise of others.
Think about how attention to detail may help you be more sure of yourself.

how you relate to others
You are Faithful

Your trust in others, respect for tradition, and caring nature make you FAITHFUL.
Maintaining a few intimate relationships is more important to you than knowing a lot of people, and you share a lot with your close friends.
Those who have managed to get close to you value your camaraderie, and they know that they can trust you with anything; you're a good listener.
While you can usually see several sides of an argument, you often have a strong opinion as to which side is correct—the order of things is usually clear to you.
Your perspective on the world is based on careful observation, and you know a lot about how people feel in—and react to—many situations.
Your exploration of others' feelings has led you to believe that although people generally act appropriately, having clear social rules is very important to a functional society.
Time alone for reflection is important to you—you are introspective and aware of your own feelings.
Faithful is as faithful does—you expect those with whom you are close to be loyal to you, and you take betrayal of your trust very seriously.

If you want to be different:
Some of the alternate perspectives that you understand may have more value than you give them credit for—keep in mind that right and wrong aren't always so clear-cut.
While you are able to reap the benefits of your time alone, and may see interacting with a lot of people as more tiring than exciting, remember that there is a lot to be learned from experiencing things and not just reflecting on them.

Company BBQ

Every quarter we have a Employee Appreciation Event. This quarter, it was a BBQ from Bono's.

Complete with at Pie Baking Contest. I baked a Toll House pie...

and a Peanut Butter Silk pie...

Took 3rd place in the 'Cream Pie' and the 'Nut Pie' categories. Not too shabby! But, unfortunately, there were no 'leftovers' to bring home to the family. So, I baked another Toll House pie today, but without the walnuts.

Okay, here's more from the Family Reunion...

The trip there, didn't look too promising...

But, pressing on we enjoyed lots of water:

Boats...Tubing:
What's a family reunion without food? (Nice place to chow down!)

Family... (of course, hence the name 'Family Reunion')

The sun finally did break through...

A very enjoyable day at The Lakehouse (Although there was a "Sandra" in attendance, it wasn't Sandra Bullock. But we love our 'Sandra' better!)

Taken at my cousin's lake place, the location of our annual family reunion for my Dad's side. Lot's of water, boats, food and family! I'll post more tomorrow, it's getting late!
